Made with 100% Godello, the Xil is the Celtic name for the river Sil that runs through the region of Valdeorras. This gorgeous dry white offers up hints of peaches, apricots, and honeysuckle, no obvious oak, a terrific texture, medium to full body, and wonderful purity as well as length.
Quite pale in color, with a good nose of pineapple, white peach, a hint of jasmine and fennel. As with a lot of these whites from northwest Spain, there is a really enjoyable silky/oily texture that matches well with the acid. In the mouth it shows more pineapple, apricot, and highlight of cantaloupe.
This smooth and floral godello glides slowly and softly across the palate, caressing it with flavors of nuts and raspberries.
