Viognier from Condrieu, Rhone, France: Guigal Condrieu 2007

This wine posses a penetrating fragrance of flowers, white peaches, apricot and honey. With a brilliant, clear golden yellow color, this wine is fresh and round on the palate. Medium bodied with a decent acidity, and copious quantities of fresh, lively fruity, this vintage is delicate, elegant and delicious drinking over the next 3-4 years.

Perfect as an aperitif, this wine is the ideal matching with traditional French food such as Foie Gras and delicate Asian food.

Very juicy and still a touch compact, with green almond, fig and anise notes waiting to come out from behind the fennel and mineral. Long finish. Cellar short term to let this open up. Best from 2009 through 2011.
