Our estate grown 2008 Dollarhide Sauvignon Blanc is an exceptional example of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Starting with focused and intense aromas of grapefruit, honeysuckle, apricot and nectarines there is plenty going on here. The palate is rich with ruby grapefruit, pomelo that is shaped by mineral and floral notes. The finish is bright and long ending with a touch of spice.
Located in the Pope Valley, in the hills east of Napa, the Dollarhide Ranch rises to elevations of 775 feet, where the days are warmer and nights cooler than lower in Napa Valley. That diurnal shift accounts for some of the flavor intensity of this young wine. Its complex aromas of passionfruit and grapefruit pith last with heady spice. It's beautifully rich and substantial without excess weight. For roast John Dory.
